4. Do I have to be a certified diver to use a MiniB?
No, but the Mini-B is essentially a piece of scuba diving equipment, so for your own safety you should know how to use it correctly underwater. We strongly recommend you complete an open water scuba course before using your Mini-B. If you are already a certified diver, there is no additional training required.

5. Where can I use a MiniB to scuba dive?

6. Can I take the MiniB on the Airlines?
Yes, but the tank must be empty. The Mini-B has been transported domestically and internationally both with and without the valve in place. The size is about 24" x 24" x 9" and will fit into a standard overhead bin. It has been transported both as carry-on and as checked baggage. In baggage, you should take the valve out and place it into one of the internal weight pockets just to make things easier on the TSA folks as they will certainly open the bag to inspect the tank. And, it should definitely be put it into a bag to keep it clean. For carry-on, you can simply open the valve to let the security people know it is empty.

11. Can I start my training at one facility then complete the dives at a resort location?
Yes. Most learn to dive programmes are designed so that you can do your theory and confined water training in one location, and your open water dives in another - usually called a "global referral". Ask your local dive centre if they offer this option.

13. How does an authorized Mini-B Shallow Water Scuba Diving™ course differ from a regular scuba certification course?
Because the Mini-B system is specifically designed for shallow, clear calm, resort-like conditions, the training is unique and different from a regular open water scuba certification course. Any regular open water scuba diver can use the MiniB kit, but if you are not currently a certified diver, then you will need to take an authorized Mini-B Shallow Water Scuba Diving™ course. The Mini-B course differs from regular scuba training in that there is no formal class work, it is done on-line in self-paced sessions. There are also reduced pool and open water elements in the Mini-B programme as well. A fully-insured and certified instructor will take you through the simple and effective training programme.
